ADA Aqua Soil Amazonia is the flagship substrate from Aqua Design Amano, made from a rare, relatively sticky natural black soil rich in nitrogen, organic acids, and plant-derived compounds, distinct from ordinary volcanic ash soils. It lowers pH and KH to create slightly acidic water (pH ~6.0-6.8) ideal for tropical fish, shrimp, and aquatic plants, and promotes vigorous root growth. The Powder type shown here features smaller grains suited to delicate plants and as a top layer over the Normal type.
