Tropica Aquarium Soil is a complete, active bottom layer that can be used on its own without additional substrate layers. With a 2-3 mm grain size, it is pre-fertilized to ensure strong root development and active plant growth from day one, and its organic acids buffer the pH to just below 7 while enhancing red plant coloration. A powder version with smaller granules is often used as a top cap for fine planting and a uniform surface.
